International Collaborations
I was part of the Landscape Hydrology Lab group, which participated in (or hosted) multiple international workshops between 2015 and 2018. These workshops resulted in several publications and conference presentations, ongoing research efforts, and trans-oceanic friendships.
Network Analysis Workshops
1. Korea University, Seoul, South Korea.
In 2015, Korea University hosted the first official installment of an interdisciplinary workshop series that focused on network analysis. This work inspired the network analysis component of our Water Resources Research paper, "Hyphenated Hydrology: Interdisciplinary evolution of water resource science."
We found that hydrology experienced an increased number of connections to external disciplines between 1965 and 2015.
2. Technische Universität, Dresden, Germany.
TU Dresden hosted the second network analysis workshop in 2017, which comprised a group of about 30 people from ~17 different countries. This endeavor expanded work that began in Korea and planted seeds for future group efforts.
3. University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA.
Our lab hosted the 2018 installment of the network workshop series, and I worked alongside my PhD advisor to co-organize the workshop agenda and logistics. This effort informed our ongoing collaborative work pertaining to the evaporative dynamics and the Budyko framework.
Wetlandscapes Workshop
INVEMAR, Santa Marta, Colombia, South America.
In spring 2018, the Institute for Marine and Coastal Research (INVEMAR) hosted a workshop relating to wetlandscapes around the globe and addressed holistic questions regarding their future health. We visited the Cienega Grande, the largest wetland in Colombia. Three manuscripts were consequently produced: 1-Sustainable Development Goals and wetlands; 2-wetlandscape data; 3-hydro-climatic wetlandscape changes.
